Need help with schoolwork? Or just want to get better grades and have fun at the same time? Why not come along to STRIVE centre.
The STRIVE Centre stands for Students That Really want to ImproVE. It is a free service to students of Swansea High School.
Students have an opportunity to gain assistance to complete assessment tasks, consolidate basic skills and develop more complex skills and study skills. The tutors are students from Years 10, 11 and 12. To become a tutor students have to prove they were capable of the task, have a positive academic and behavioural record and undertake an interview process to showcase their ability to undertake the program. Feedback indicates students have found the student tutors extremely helpful and valuable.
STRIVE centre runs each week on Monday and Tuesday afternoons 3.30 to 5.00pm, and Thursday afternoons 3.30 to 4.30pm in the library. To find out more about, or to access, the program please contact the coordinator, Mrs Penny Buckley at the school on (02) 4971 1944.
